Soldiers Trained in Tamil Language Given Proficiency Certificates


A total of 12 officers and 1110 other ranks who followed Tamil language courses, conducted by the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) passed out during a brief ceremony on Thursday (5).

The project, implemented on the instructions of Major General Udaya Perera, Commander, SFHQ - J was conducted by instructors at the Army Tamil Language Training School, Kotmale.

Award of proficiency certificates and merit awards to those attendees occurred at Kankasanthurai before a gathering of religious leaders, District Secretary for Jaffna, Head UN Office for Coordinating Humanitarian Affairs and several others.

Major General Udaya Perera, Commander, SFHQ-J gave away certificates and awards. He was joined by several invitees.
