  • Tamil Course for Wanni Soldiers Commenced


    In order to improve Tamil language proficiency among troops serving the Security Force Headquarters-Wanni (SFHQ-W), a Tamil proficiency course was launched on Tuesday (28) at  2nd Battation Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment Headquarters. The course is assisted by instructors from the National Institute of Language Education and Training. 15 Officers and 67 Other Rankers are attending the course and the course will continue for a few weeks.
  • 11 Division Celebrates New Year Festival


    Officers and other rankers serving under 11 Division of the Security Force Headquarters – Central (SFHQ-C) recently held a Sinhala and Tamil New Year festival at the 1 Sri Lanka Rifle Corps (SLRC) grounds. Major General D.S.N.K. Senadheera, General Officer Commanding, 11 Division, graced the event as the Chief Guest.   • Another Yoga Course Commences in Kilinochchi


    The third Yoga course, with the motive of enhancing discipline, mental and physical strengths of military personnel serving the Security Force Headquarters-Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) commenced on 23rd April at the Advanced Infantry Platoon Training (APIT) school, Bharathipuram. The course will continue until 28 May with the participation of 54 other ranks.

    The relief and rescue contingent, comprised of Sri Lanka’s Army, Navy, Air Force and Civil sector consultants, now engaged in post-earthquake humanitarian services in Nepal has treated 81 injured earthquake victims, cleared debris and rubble and succeeded in re-opening three major roads, remained not movable in Dolalghart and Bodgam areas during the past two days (May 3 - 4)........

  • Kilinochchi People Alerted to Malaria Epidemic

     
    To mark the World’s Malaria Day, which fell on 25 April, a detachment of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps under Security Force Headquarters-Kilinochchi conducted an awareness programme on ‘Malaria’. Officers and other rankers from all Divisions, Brigades and Battalions participated in the awareness programme by distributing leaflets among people in Kilinochchi and suburbs.
  • Army Personnel Actively Engage in 'Vesak' Commemorative Programmes


    All officers and other rankers representing the Army are contributing to the success of the ongoing Colombo Gangarama Vesak Zone and elsewhere round the country on the directions of the Commander of the Army in close cooperation with the Army Buddhist Association.
