  • 211 Brigade Organizes Blood Donation


    With the cooperation of staff at Vavuniya Blood Bank, a blood donation programme was conducted by troops, serving the 211 Brigade at National Youth Services Council, Vavuniya on Monday (9). During the programme 30 civilians in addition to troops gave blood for the benefit of inmates in the Vavuniya government hospital.

  • Sinha Regiment Wins First Army Gymnastic Championship


    Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) gymnasts competing in the first Inter-Regiment Gymnastic Championship meet of Physical Training School at Panagoda, won the Championship, pushing Sri Lanka Engineers (SLE) to be the first runners-up.     The Association of Army Athletics (AAA), now marking its ‘Golden Jubilee – 2013’, immortalized the memories of the Army-produced athletes on Thursday (12) by producing the first-ever chronicle of Army Athletics to the nation and awarding laurels to a host of veterans and athletes during a glittering ceremony at Musaeus College auditorium. Hon. Mahindananda Aluthgamage, Minister of Sports and Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake, Commander of the Army, graced the Book Launching and Felicitation Ceremony as Chief Guest and Guest of Honour respectively.
