  • Fallen Sinha Regiment War Heroes Remembered in Colourful Commemorative Ceremony



    With Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake, Commander of the Army gracing as the Chief Guest, the Regimental Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) paid tribute to the memory of their fallen War Heroes at its Ambepussa Headquarters on Saturday (02), giving pride of place to next of kin and children of SLSR War Heroes, either killed in action or gone missing.
  • Commander Immediately Suspends Service of Soldier Arrested for Involvement in Many Robberies

     
    A soldier, arrested on suspicion for involvement in a number of robberies  was immediately suspended from service on Saturday (2) and the Directorate of Legal Services in the Army, was directed to convene a Court Martial by the Commander of the Army, Lt Gen Daya Rathnayake without delay. The soldier, alleged to have committed a number robberies in and around Colombo while in service, was taken into custody by the Military Police, following information, given by the Police to it when he was attending a sports event at Panagoda Army Cantonment Saturday evening.
     
  • New CD, 'Popi Malak' Dedicated to All Fallen War Heroes Launched


    'Popi Malak', an album dedicated to the memory of War Heroes, "Samaramu Api Ranaviruwo" with 27 songs, produced by Mass Media and Cultural Circle of the Sri Lanka Catholic Council was presented to Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake, Commander of the Army by Rev. Fr. Benedict Joseph, Director of Mass Media and Cultural Circle of the Sri Lanka Catholic Council.

  • Army Celebrates Deepavali in Jaffna & Mullaittivu


    To mark the Deepavali festival troops serving 512 Brigade under Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) decorated and illuminated all the roads in Jaffna Town on Saturday (2). The programme was organized with an intension of promoting unity and co-existence among the nations in northern area.
