Security Force Headquarters-Central (SFHQ-C) with the intention of promoting cricket and its umpiring organized a full day workshop at SFHQ-C premises on Saturday (2) with special focus on new amendments, made to cricket rules.
The workshop, arranged under the guidance of the Commander, SFHQ-C, Major General U.A.B Medawala, Chairman, Army Cricket Board was conducted by Mr T.H Wijeywardena, Chief Instructor, Sri Lanka Cricket Board and an International Umpire, Mr Deepal Goonewardena, a senior umpire to Sri Lanka Cricket Board and Mr Basil Perera, a referee.
Five senior cricketers, representing each Army Regiment attended the workshop. A 20-20 cricket tournament, held between Army ‘B’ cricket team and the Sri Lanka Military Academy team at Polo grounds, Diyatalawa on the following day culminated the arrangements.
