Grievances of Next of Kin of Fallen CR War Heroes Addressed

With the objective of finding solutions or redress to any issues, affecting the next of kin of fallen War Heroes of the Commando Regiment (CR), the CR Regimental Headquarters recently organized a meeting for those resident in Matara, Galle and Kalutara Districts as the first phase of the project.

The mobile arrangement, held at Kalutara District Secretariat auditorium attracted more than 200 relatives of fallen CR War Heroes who were interviewed by a board of representatives of different Directorates of the Army in order to listen to them.

As part of the day’s programme, these relatives of fallen CR War Heroes finally, took part in a merit-transferring religious observance at the sacred Kalutara Bodhiya.

Spouses, children, parents and close relatives of fallen CR War Heroes burst into tears as the religious programme got underway after the problem-solving sessions at the Kalutara District secretariat were over.

CR Regimental Headquarters spent for the travel, meals and refreshments of those attendees.

The second phase of the same programme took place at Kataragama Kirivehera premises with the participation of next of kin living in Ratnapura, Badulla, Ampara, Monaragala and Hambantota Districts in the last week of October.    

Commandant, CR Regimental Headquarters, senior officers and several Commanding Officers from different units were associated with these programmes.
