    More and more donations continue to keep flowing for the Brave Hearts project, the fund raiser for the construction of wellness resorts in many districts of the country on behalf of totally dependant disabled war heroes. Singer Sri Lanka PLC, a trusted commercial organization in the country, donated Rs 1 million to the Brave Hearts project, and the donation was handed over to Mrs Manjulika Jayasuriya, President, Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB) by Singer Sri Lanka’s Chief Executive Officer.....

  • Emerging Army's Seekkuge Prasanna Selected for Sri Lanka National Cricket Team


    Promising right-arm leg-spinner, Lance Corporal Seekkuge Prasanna of Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps represented Sri Lanka National Side in the 4th and 5th One Day International (ODI) matches, played against Australia on 20 & 22 Aug 2011 at the Keththarama International Stadium. In his debut ODI, he captured 3 wickets in one over including the brilliant catch of the former Australian captain, Ricky Ponting.  Further, he     showed his potential in the final ODI by bowling the match winning fine spell of 1 for 37 in 10 overs. He joined the Sri Lankan team after his successful tour to England with the Sri Lanka ‘A’ Cricket Team for participation in the matches, held between July 17-August 19, this year. Prasanna has already represented Sri Lanka ‘A’ for the tour of Australia last year and the Triangle series with Pakistan......
  • Army Amateur Boxers Collect 5 Gold & Silver Medals


    Sri Lanka Army Boxers during the Novices Boxing Tournament of the Amateur Boxing Association of Sri Lanka (ABA), held at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium between August 22-25, secured the highest numbers of Gold and Silver medals against 173 entries. Those Army male boxers dominated the whole of encounters throughout the tournament and bagged five Gold Medals out of a total of 10, which is considered a record achievement in the field of amateur boxing.
