Parallel Army Day (Oct 10) and 64th Army Anniversary ceremonies took place at provincial level in a few Security Force Headquarters and Divisions on Thursday (10). Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) had organized a series of arrangements in this connection. A new Information Technology (IT) wing with the latest technology was declared open by Major General E.P De Z. Abeysekara, Deputy Chief of Staff and Colonel Commandant, Sri Lanka Signal Corps (SLSC) as the Chief Guest, at the School of Signals, Pallekele, Kandy recently. The new IT wing provides latest IT facilities to all the trainers.

Several more Army establishments around the country commemorated the 64th Army anniversary and Army Day simultaneously on October 10 at respective places. Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J), adding a new dimension to the anniversary event, donated blood to the Jaffna Teaching Hospital during an arrangement, organized at Army Base Hospital at Palaly.
