Gunaratne, Commander, Security Forces, Wanni along with senior Army and Police officers met Madhu Shrine authorities and looked into security arrangements.

Security Forces Headquarters, Jaffna (SFHQ - J) organized a cricket tournament for all clubs in the peninsula with the intention of popularizing the game among the youth in the area. The 20/20 cricket tournament received an overwhelming response from the clubs as 18 teams consented to take part in the team. In addition, teams from the tri-services and the Police came forward to try their luck. A tournament of this nature was conducted in Jaffna after absence of more than thirty years.
