  • Commander Directs Director of Legal Services To Initiate Court of Inquiry into Horowpatana Incident After Suspending Four SLNG Soldiers Forthwith


    Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake on hearing the alleged incident in Horowpatana where four Sri Lankan National Guard (SLNG) soldiers were involved, assured the Police of all possible assistance and cooperation to bring the offenders to justice.   • Kaddekadu Roman Catholic Mixed School Given Donations From Army


    19 Sri Lanka National Guard Troops (SLNG) under 553 Brigade, considering economic constraints of the students distributed school accessories and uniforms on Wednesday (28) at Kaddekadu Roman Catholic Mixed School premises. Children of 52 low-income families on the occasion received school uniforms, gift parcels of accessories while families were given a dry ration pack, each.

    ‘You must be the most disciplined person in the whole of the country and should never commit any undisciplined act since everything in the Army depends on strict discipline. Those engaged in most serious disciplinary violations will be expelled from the Army, and all attempts should be made to lead others in the correct path, if not ensure that they are transferred out to serve another Regiment because no soldier with indiscipline is supposed to be in.....
  • More Lands in Jaffna Released to Civilians


    Houses and property so far used by 9 Battalion of Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) and 23 Battalion of Gajaba Regiment (GR) in Jaffna were released to original ordnance during the ceremony headed by Major General Mahinda Hathurusinghe, Commander Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) after troops moving two new camps on Sunday (25).

  • Trial Train Reaches Kilinochchi

    A trial train run on the newly-built railway track to Kilinochchi on Thursday (29) after absence of more than 30 years, was witnessed by a large gathering who assembled along the railway line from Omanthai to Kilinochchi. Covering a distance of 62 km, between Omanthai and Kilinochchi, this trial train stopped at Puliyankulam, Mankulam, Thirumurukandi stations before reaching Kilinochchi within a matter of one hour.
