    Student Officers at the Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) Sapugaskanda, Sri Lanka’s highest seat of learning for Defence Services personnel, had the rare opportunity of listening to a lecture of the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya this morning (29). The students belonging to all three forces inclusive of a few Officers from other foreign Armies listened to this lecture as a part of their training for Passed Staff College qualification (psc) at the DSCSC.

  • Soldiers Construct Public Utilities in Kilinochchi Temple

    Soldiers of 53 Division of Sri Lanka Army in Kilinochchi on the instructions of the General Officer Commanding Major General K. A. D. A. Karunasekara recently constructed a set of lavatories for the use of pilgrims at Lumbini Viharaya, the Buddhist Temple in Kilinochchi. This temple was in a devastated state when the soldiers liberated it during the humanitarian operation from the ruthless LTTE terrorists.

  • Passport Forgers' LTTE Links Bared

    Spanish and Thai Police investigating a gang that supplied forged passports to al-Qaeda-linked groups have found new evidence of links to the LTTE, news agencies say quoting Spanish authorities.   • Fallen Heroes Remembered

    The fallen war heroes of Army, Navy, Air Force and Police, who sacrificed their lives to save the motherland from the LTTE were commemorated by presenting the Uththama Pooja Pranama Medal to their parents and wives at the Air Force base premises in Hingurakgoda on Friday.     Another 30 Rehabilitees successfully completed the motor mechanic training course facilitated by David Pieris Motor Company. The certificate awarding ceremony was held at Bandaragama David Pieris Auditorium on Friday. The course is specially designed on mechanical based training to train rehabilitees as motor mechanics to start their life new once reintegrated.
