  • Seva Vanitha Army Branch Hands over keys to Newly Built houses


    The Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB), in a simple ceremony at the SVAB office handed over keys to five newly-built houses to the recipients on Friday (26). Mrs Manjulika Jayasuriya, President SVAB, as the Chief Guest gave away the keys to the recipients. Out of the five houses, keys of a home was handed over to Corporal C.A Jayawardana of the Sri Lanka Engineers (SLE).
  • Sri Lanka Army Athlete Wins Bronze in Para Athletic Games


    Bringing credit to the organization he serves once again, Staff Sergeant Pradeep Sanjaya of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR), currently participating in the IPC Athletics Championship in Lyon, France won a Bronze medal on Saturday (27) in the 400 m event. Staff Sergeant Pradeep Sanjaya earlier too brought honour to the country by winning a Silver medal in Para Olympic games.....

    "Ranaviru Real Star Mission III" that went on boards at Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium last evening (27) to a packed crowd of music fans selected Sri Lanka Air Force Leading Aircraft Woman, Thushani Perera as the final ‘Real Star’, making both Army contenders to be first and second runners-up. "Real Star Mission III " winner is to receive a new house, worth about Rs 8 million as the gift. Runners-up will receive a car and cash prizes for their respective 2nd and 3rd slots in the programme. However, the 4th runner-up was also from the Army.

    A representative gathering of officers and soldiers of the Sri Lanka Army Tuesday (30) morning accorded a salute to the outgoing Commander of the Army General Jagath Jayasuriya during a formal military ceremony at CH & FC ground at Maitland Crescent. In accordance with military traditions, the outgoing Commander on arrival at the venue reviewed the Guard Turn Out, presented by the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (SLAC) after he was received by SLAC Centre Commandant at the entrance.

    General Jagath Jayasuriya, Commander of the Army on the eve of his exit from the Army to assume duties as new Chief of Defence Staff, did not want to forget his officers and other ranks in his mother regiment, Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (SLAC). On Tuesday (30), General Jayasuriya after pinning Rana Sura Padakkama (RSP) on 187 SLAC officers and other ranks during a dignified ceremony at SLAC Regimental Headquarters.....
