  • Sri Lanka's High Commissioner - Designate for India Receives Updates on Current Army Involvements


    Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner - designate for India, Mr Esala Weerakoon before his departure for India to take up the new appointment, paid a courtesy call on the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva Tuesday (18) evening in order to receive an update related to roles and tasks of the Sri Lanka Army.  Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva extending his best wishes on his new appointment......
     
  • 5th Computer Course at SFHQ-W Ends


    The fifth  phase of the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W)- organized Computer Course with the objective of further expanding knowledge on Information Technology (IT) among troops serving the SFHQ-W, reached its successful completion on Saturday (22) at the SFHQ-W auditorium.


  • KLN Officers' Presentations Held


    With the intention of enhancing academic, professional and command standards among officers serving under the Security Force Headquarters-Kilinochchi(SFHQ-KLN), two ‘syndicate presentations’ of the officers were held on Wednesday(19) and Thursday(20) at SFHQ-KLN premises.
  • India's NDC Students Exchange Views with Commander


    A student officer delegation following the 55th  National Defence College Course (NDC)  of India, currently in Sri Lanka on a four-day familiarization tour, came to the Army Headquarters this morning (24) in order to meet the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva and offer their greetings to the Sri Lanka Army.

  • CDS Makes His Maiden Visit to SFHQ-E after Assuming Office


    Air Chief Marshal Kolitha Gunatilleke, the nearly-appointed Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) made his first visit to the Security Forces Headquarters-East (SFHQ-E) on Thursday (20). The visiting CDS was received by Major General Janaka Walgama, Commander, SFHQ-E before a Guard of Honour greeted the visiting Air Chief Marshal Gunathileke. The Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (SLAC) troops took part in the military honours.

  • SLLI Regimental Center Opens Its New Corporals' Club


    The inaugural opening of the newly-constructed Corporals’ Club at the Regimental Headquarters (RHQ), Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI), Panagoda on Friday (21) was graced by the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Chrishanthe De Silva. The two-storied building where more than 175 members can be accommodated at a time was a collective effort of SLLI all rankers.

  • All Set to Commence 'Defence Seminar - 2015' Sessions in Colombo


    Final touches are now underway for conduct of the annual flagship project of the Sri Lanka Army, 'Defence Seminar - 2015' during Sept 1-2 at Colombo Galadari Hotel with the participation of more than 350 participants, including 62 foreign delegates and distinguished statesmen as confirmed by Monday (August 24). This year’s sessions, themed on 'National Security in the Context of Emerging Global Threats' are segmented into nine sessions under sub themes such as ‘Nature of Threats Affecting the National Security of a Nation’, ‘Emerging World Order’, ‘Terrorism and Challenges to National Security’ and ‘Non-military Threats to National Security’.
     
  • 112 Brigade Troops Do More Welfare Activities


    Troops of the 3 (V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) under the 112 Brigade of the Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-C) conducted a ‘Shramadana’ campaign on Wednesday (19) at the Bamberekale Sri Maha Viharaya, Nuwaraeliya to clean the temple premises.
