India's NDC Students Exchange Views with Commander


A student officer delegation following the 55th  National Defence College Course (NDC)  of India, currently in Sri Lanka on a four-day familiarization tour, came to the Army Headquarters this morning (24) in order to meet the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva and offer their greetings to the Sri Lanka Army.

The sixteen-member delegation, headed by Major General R.S.P. Bhaduria, Senior Directing Staff at the Indian National Defence College, includes four foreign officials from the USA, UK, Nepal and New Zealand and is scheduled to call on the Commander of the Navy, Commander of the Air Force, Secretary to Ministry of Defence, Chief of Defence Staff, Commander, Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna, Commander of Eastern Naval area and a few other state officials during their 5 day stay in Sri Lanka. 

Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva after extending a warm welcome to the visiting Major General R.S.P. Bhaduria at the former’s office at the Army Headquarters, exchanged views with the visiting Senior Directing Staff and a few accompanying Senior Student Officers  who had the chance of receiving an update on the organization through a formal presentation.

Discussions also centered on course materials, routinely taught in the Indian NDC and corresponding Sri Lankan Military Training Schools with special focus on post-conflict involvements and military training modules to suit fast changing world trends and military scenarios in the world.
 
Exchange of mementos towards the end of the interactive meet marked the culmination of the formal meeting.
