  • Various Programmes Continuing Under SFHQ-E


    Troops serving 27 Sri Lanka National Guard of 222 Brigade in 22 Division under Security Force Headquarters - East (SFHQ-E), recently conducted a Shramadana campaign at Ichalampaththu Hospital premises in order to keep the area free from garbage. In a similar project, troops conducted a tree planting programme in Ichalampaththu area with the support of the civilians.

    Kilinochchi masses frequenting the Harmony Centre at Kilinochchi, thanks to the efforts of the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN), can now enjoy watching TV programmes, matches, reality shows, sports, educational programmes, etc free of charge, following establishment of a multi media screen at the expense of the Army serving the area.
     
  • Troops in the East Launch Different Projects


    Security Force Headquarters, East (SFHQ-E) as has been the practice elsewhere, launched numerous welfare roles for the benefit of civilians in the area. Troops serving the 222 Brigade of 22 Division distributed spectacles among the civilians who had eye ailments and problems with the sight during a mobile eye clinic held at Welunna Temple, Kantale on Thursday (6)......

    Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake, Commander of the Army, paying a visit to the new ten-storied Military Hospital construction complex at Narahenpita, now on the verge of its ceremonial opening, took time off on Wednesday (12) to see how new medical equipment, are being installed......
     
  • Dogs Engaged in Different Humanitarian & Security Roles Stage Their Show in Kilinochchi


    A five-day workshop for dog-handlers plus a spectacular show of the dogs serving the Army took place at the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN), following an initiative taken by 611 Brigade Headquarters. 353 dog handlers serving every corner of the SFHQ-KLN followed the workshop and the dog show got underway on Thursday (6) before a large gathering of all ranks................
  • 'Journey of Life', Mammoth Conceptual Musical Fiesta to be a Novel Experience, - Commander



    The year’s scintillating musical fiesta, ‘Sannaliyane’, the fund-raising musical extravaganza of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU) at Army Headquarters with a galaxy of popular vocalists and artistes, will be on the boards at Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium on March 30, 2014.   • SFHQ-J Conducts Community Projects


    Under the disaster mitigation project of the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J), troops serving 10 Sri Lanka Engineers (SLE) during March 4-11  organized several awareness programmes on “Risks of land mines” in 55 Division area. Those six programmes, were conducted with the participation of 130 teachers and 1566 students in the area......
