Troops in the East Launch Different Projects


Security Force Headquarters, East (SFHQ-E) as has been the practice elsewhere, launched numerous welfare roles for the benefit of civilians in the area.

Troops serving the 222 Brigade of 22 Division distributed spectacles among the civilians who had eye ailments and problems with the sight during a mobile eye clinic held at Welunna Temple, Kantale on Thursday (6).

On the same day, troops of 22nd Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) at  Kallar under the same Brigade and Division organized an inter-club cricket tournament in the Bathiyagama ground. 

In the meantime, on instructions of Major General Lal Perera, Commander SFHQ-E,  troops serving the same Headqurters, organized performance of a drama, produced by actress Anoja Weerasinghe for teachers, students and youth in Trincomalee area. It was satged at Vivekananda School in Trincomalee on Tuesday ( 04 ).   

On the same day following directions of Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake, Commander of the Army, the SFHQ-E organized a series of informative lectures on discipline and conduct in order to enhance the knowledge of military personnel serving the SFHQ-E.
