Various Programmes Continuing Under SFHQ-E

 
Troops serving 27 Sri Lanka National Guard of 222 Brigade in 22 Division under Security Force Headquarters - East (SFHQ-E), recently conducted a Shramadana campaign at Ichalampaththu Hospital premises in order to keep the area free from garbage.

In a similar project, troops conducted a tree planting programme in Ichalampaththu area with the support of the civilians.
 
222 Brigade meanwhile, recently organized a blood donation camp at Jayanthigama School in Polonnaruwa. More than 200 blood donors including civilians and soldiers, joined together to give away blood.

Meanwhile, 5 Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps (SLAMC), with a view to keeping the military personnel informed of being alert to health habits, initiated a series of lecture programmes for military personnel serving the SFHQ-E.
 
The inaugural lecture was delivered by Commanding Officer, 5 SLAMC at Engineer Service Regiment lecture hall.
 
Topics such as introduction of practices for good health and hygiene, attitudes and habits, introduction of communicable disease, parasitic diseases, bacterial/viral infections, sexually-transmitted  diseases  and awareness  of HIV/AIDS, introduction of non-communicable  diseases, and changes in life styles, prevention of accidents and cancer, stress control awareness, etc, were taken up for discussion.
