  • Commander Visits 'Hela Viru Rasa Udanaya' at Kimbulawala


    Hela Viru Rasa Udanaya’, the food festival of the Army, organized by the Security Force Headquarters - West (SFHQ-West) , now in progress at Kimbulawala, Battaramulla, had Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake as a surprise Guest on Friday (26) evening when the event was in full swing with a large crowd.
  • New 'Disaster and Relief Centre' Now Operational in Minneriya and Accepts Public Donations and Relief Items


    A special ‘Disaster and Relief Centre’ managed by the Army has been established in Minneriya in the Forward Maintenance Area Headquarters (FMA) - East with the intention of coordinating and providing immediate assistance and relief for East - based civilians affected by floods and continuing rains, which is operational from December 27 on the instructions of the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake.

  • SLNG's 'Guardians' Mela' Now Open in Maligapitiya, Kurunegala


    Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) Trade Fair and Musical Show ‘Guardians’ Mela’ at Maligapitiya, Kurunelaga was ceremonially, opened by the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake Saturday (27) evening at the request of the SLNG Headquarters. The project, aimed at further strengthening the SLNG’s welfare fund.......
     
     
  • Troops Erect Protective Shade & Join Tsunami Commemoration


    12 (V) Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) troops, realizing the imminent damages, being caused to the Tsunami memorial at Kaddaikadu in the general area of Vettalakerni Jaffna, volunteered to bear the cost of the construction of a new protective shade to the memorial when preparations were underway to commemorate the Tsunami’s 10th Anniversary on December 26.
  • Singapore Red Cross Society Helps Establishment of One More IT Centre


    With 12 new computers, donated by Singapore Red Cross Society to the Kilinochchi Harmony Centre, one more IT laboratory was established at the place and opened on Saturday (27). The donation came as an honour to the memory of Tsunami victims in the north following coordination done by the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) on the directions of Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe, Commander, SFHQ-KLN.
  • Mullaittvu Troops Launch Elaborate X'mas Programme


    Troops of the 64 Division of the Security Force Headquarters-Mullaittvu (SFHQ-MLT) joined together with civilians in celebrating Christmas in the area during last week. 25 Sri Lanka National Guard troops cleared the premises of the Sumai Appar Church of the Kulamurippu area on Tuesday (23) on account of the season.

  • 'EACH -“ R' Foundation Gives Away School Items


    ‘EACH – R’ Foundation in Colombo gave away school items to 102 school children, studying at Thambirasapuram Maha Vidyalaya in Vishwamadu, Killinochchi on Sunday (28) following an initiative of the 57 Division. General Officer Commanding of the 57 Division, who graced the occasion as the chief guest, gave away these school accessories to the children.

  • Troops Conduct More Community Projects in East


    Troops of several Battalions and Divisions of the Security Force Headquarters-East (SFHQ-E) in the past few days conducted community projects to promote bellow understanding with the general public in the area. 5 Sri Lanka Artillery (SLA) and 6 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) troops, organized a ‘Dansala’ to offer free food for devotees who attended Christmas festivals at Patalipuram, Muthur and Kuchchaweli areas respectively on Thursday (25).
  • Army Troops Continue to Take Care of Flood Victims in Wanni, Kilinochchi, East, Central and West


    Sri Lanka Army troops under the Security Force Headquarters (SFHQs) Wanni, Kilinochchi, East, Central and West, are continuing their rescue and relief operations with commitment for the benefit of flood victims by assisting the conduct of medical clinics, restoration of disrupted roads, threatened and burst tank bunds, provision of security and administrative support for surveys, transport of victims and relief items, coordination of Navy and Air Force services for emergencies, etc in the past two days (Dec 28-29).
  • Children of SLAVF War Heroes Offered Schols & Incentives


    A total of 646 children of officers and soldiers serving the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) during a ceremony at Nelum Pokuna on Friday (26), received educational assistance as scholarships to the value of Rs 12 million, including 18 new laptop computers.
