  • 75 Houses to be Built for Landside Victims at Meeriyabedda


    The foundation stone laying ceremony for construction of 75 houses for landslide victims at the Meeriyabedda area was held at the Ampitikanda land on Thursday (18).     Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR), one of the most battle-hardened and professional regiments in the Army paid its tribute to the memory of their fallen War Heroes at its Ambepussa Headquarters on Saturday (20), awarding the  pride of place to next of kin and children of SLSR War Heroes, either killed in action or have gone missing while fighting.
     
  • Jaffna Christmas Arrangements Now on Display


    The inauguration of the Christmas and New Year festivities in Jaffna, near the esplanade adjacent to the Weerasingham Hall took place on Friday (19) at 7.00 p.m. in a brief ceremony, attended by Jaffna Bishop Rev.   • Training School Troops Rescue 50 Flood Victims


    Troops of the Non Commissioned Officers Training School at Kalaoya, Saliyawewa on Friday (19) and Saturday (20) succeeded in rescuing 48 civilians stranded due to floods in Rajanganaya Yaya 18 area after torrential rains, caused opening of the sluice gates of the Rajanganaya reservoir.  At the same time, those troops jumped into action and moved out valuable accessories.....
