  • Second Phase Starts to Facilitate Partially Built Ranaviru Houses


    Under the second stage of the Housing Scheme introduced to complete the partially built houses of War Heroes, over 322 service personnel were awarded with the housing material facility today at a function held at the Defence Services College Auditorium in Colombo on Wednesday (17th Dec) under the patronage of Mrs. Ioma Rajapaksa, Chairperson of the MoD Seva Vanitha Unit (MoDSVU).
      
  • Graduation Ceremony Held at DSCSC


    Student Officers of the tri forces who had successfully completed Course No 8 of the Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) Sapugaskanda received their Degree Certificates at the Graduation Ceremony held at the college auditorium this evening (17th December). Secretary to the President Mr. Lalith Weeratunga attended as the Chief Guest.
     
  • Retired Brigadier S.P. Ekanayake's Funeral on Thursday (18)


    Brigadier (Retd) S. P Ekanayake USP of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers (SLE) passed away on 15 December 2014 in Colombo after a brief illness. His funeral with military honours takes place at the General Cemetery, Borella on Thursday (18) with military honours. The Commander of the Army, Officers and Other Ranks express their immense grief with intense feeling and profound sorrow on the demise of Brigadier S P Ekanayake (Retired) USP, a former Regimental Commander of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, on 15 December 2014 in Colombo. Sahampathi Piyasoma Ekanayake was born in Matale on 01 February 1938. He was educated at St Thomas’ College, Matale and Ananda College.....

  • Mullaittivu Troops Organize Distribution of School Accessories to Needy Students


    Troops of the Security Force Headquarters - Mullaithivu (SFHQ-MLT), distributed school bags and accessories, provided by ‘Goodness Foundation’ of Mr Kushil Perera to 150 needy school children in the SFHQ-MLT area during a brief event at the Government’s Tamil Mixed School in Karipaddapurippu on Monday (15).
