  • Commander Undertakes 'Avurudu Negam' Trip to Dependent War Heroes

     


    Reminiscing about age-old practices during the times of Sinhala and Tamil New Year, the ‘Negam Yama’ (visit to relatives) tradition was revived on Friday (24) morning by Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva, Commander of the Army when he arrived at the Attidiya Mihindu Seth Medura, together with Mrs Nayana De Silva, President, Army Seva Vanitha Unit and senior officers where a two-digit number of dependent Army War Heroes are receiving rehabilitation, rest and recuperation, having sustained permanent injuries in the war for peace.

  • Touring Kenyan NDC Delegation Meets Commander, SFHQ-West

     
    The touring National Defence College (NDC) delegation from Kenya, now on a six-day tour, arrived at the Security Force Headquarters-West (SFHQ-West) Thursday (23) morning in order to pay a courtesy call. The thirteen-member delegation, led by Brigadier A.K Mulata was welcomed by Major General Ubaya Medawala, Commander, SFHQ-West and engaged in a cordial exchange of views with the visiting senior officers from Kenya.
