Officers and other rankers of the 15 (v) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) serving Thunukkai, Mallavi area turned Good Samaritans soon after a car speeding from Maradanamadam, Jaffna to Mallavi area skidded off the road and overturned at about 9.35 a.m. on Sunday (19).
Those SLSR troops in close proximity to the spot of the accident rushed and evacuated the victims and hospitalized the two victims, Rev Kurukkal Mr Sharma and Mr Pavinasan (driver) as there was hardly anybody living in that area who would be of assistance to them.
Officers and Other Rankers of 15 SLSR carried them to the nearest Mallavi Hospital and got them admitted while simultaneously keeping the Mallavi Police station informed of the road accident.
