    The mother Regiment of the Commander of the Army, Sri Lanka Engineers (SLE), renewing its age-old traditions and military formalities, saluted yet another Commander of the Army, produced by it on Thursday (2) in a fitting ceremony, held at the SLE Regimental Headquarters at Panagoda.   
     
  • Prime Minister Speaks to Tri-Service & Police Personnel in Jaffna


    Prime Minister Hon.  Ranil Wickramasinghe during his visit to the Jaffna peninsula on Saturday (28) called at the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J), Sri Lanka Air Force Station, Palali and Northern Naval Command Headquarters, Kankasanthurai and spoke to a representative gathering of tri-service personnel and the Police.

  • 118th Birth Anniversary of Late General Sir John Kotelawala Commemorated


    A ceremony was held at the Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) today (04th Saturday, April 2015) to commemorate the 118th Birth Anniversary of late General Sir John Kotelawala. State Minister of Defence Hon. Ruwan Wijewardene graced the occasion as the chief guest. Vice Chancellor of the KDU, Major General Milinda Peiris received the Sate Minister upon his arrival at the venue.
  • Kala Oya Training School Conducts Blood Donation Campaign


    On a request by the Kurunegala Teaching Hospital Blood Bank, the Non Commissioned Officers’ Training School (NCOTS) in Kala Oya conducted a blood donation campaign at the camp premises on Thursday (02). A total of 99 Army personnel, both officers and other rankers donated blood during the arrangement. 

  • Shramadana Campaign on Good Friday


    Officers and Other Ranks of the Forward Maintenance Area (FMA) of the  57 Division and all under command units in the Security Force Headquarters- Kilinochchi  organized a Shramadana Campaign at St' Theresa's Church premises in Kilinochchi  on Good Friday(03) with the assistance of the Parish Priest at St' Theresa's Church,  Kilinochchi.
     
  • Tri-Service & Police Personnel Educated on Alcohol & Drugs


    Sri Lanka’s Alcohol and Drug Information Centre (ADIC) in keeping with the World’s Health Day, organized an awareness programme on cigarettes and alcohol for a gathering of more than 500 tri-service and Police personnel of all ranks serving the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN). Those two informative and lengthy lectures at Harmony Centre.....
  • NCOTS at Kalaoya Educates Potential Retirees on Traditional Farming


    Non-Commissioned Officers Training School (NCOTS) at Kalaoya, Saliyawewa recently introduced the new ‘Spiritual Bio-Dynamic Traditional Farming Agriculture’ course for potential Army retirees in the future with the objective of arming them with knowledge for a vocation after retirement.


  • Everything Ready for the Cricket Tournament at Koggala


    The Army six-a-side cricket tournament will get underway on 10, 11 and 12 April at the Free Trade Zone Grounds in Koggala, it was announced at a media briefing on Monday (06) evening at the Rock House Army Camp Auditorium, Modera. Major General Ubaya Medawala, Chairman, Army Cricket Committee, addressing the gathering stated that the tournament which is held for the second consecutive year.........
