  • Pre-school Teachers Get Training in Vavuniya


    Security Force Headquarters-Wanni (SFHQ-W) with the sponsorship of Union Assurance Company Ltd conducted a training workshop for more than 200 pre-school teachers at Matachaithyakulam Shensulan Educational Centr, Vavuniya on Sunday (10). With the objective of promoting their teaching skills, the Union Assurance Company Ltd has invited university lecturers and several other resource personnel to conduct the workshop.
     
  • 643 Brigade Coordinates Distribution of Sewing Machines


    Three new Singer sewing machines, donated jointly by Sri Lanka Vocational Training Authority, Mr Asitha Batuwanthuduwa and Ranura Hela Saviya to the 643 Brigade Headquarters at Mullaittivu were distributed among three skilled women during a brief ceremony on Wednesday (13), held at 643 Brigade Headquarters. All those three women, belonging to the Mullaittivu Women’s Society reside in Karipattamurippu and Manawalapattamurippu areas, affected very much due to poverty.

    3 (v) Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps cricket team after a close tussle against their rival, 2 (v) Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps cricket team won the championship in the Inter Regiment Cricket Tournament, held recently at Anuradhapura Prison Grounds. The tournament organized for the second time was held under the league system with the participation of all the Women’s Corps teams.  
  • One More Army Service Centre Opened

     
    Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (SLEME) - established new Army Service Centre and two new pre-cast buildings for Other Ranks at 552 Brigade area in Aiyakachchi, Jaffna were opened on Tuesday (12). Establishment of own Service Centres in the Army came about as a proposal of the Commander of the Army who maintained that our own Service Centres.....
     
  • 521 Brigade Organizes Dental Clinic & Workshop on Oral Hygiene


    More than 300 students in Point Pedro area recently listened to a lecture on oral hygiene, organized by the 521 Brigade Headquarters at Point Pedro. Dr S. Senthil Kumara of Manthikai Hospital and Dr Sirinivasan at Point Pedro mobile dental unit and the dentist, Dr Ms Nadeera extended their support to the project after delivering separate lectures on different aspects of oral hygiene.
