More than 300 students in Point Pedro area recently listened to a lecture on oral hygiene, organized by the 521 Brigade Headquarters at Point Pedro.
Dr S. Senthil Kumara of Manthikai Hospital and Dr Sirinivasan at Point Pedro mobile dental unit and the dentist, Dr Ms Nadeera extended their support to the project after delivering separate lectures on different aspects of oral hygiene.
Soon after awareness programmes, all the children had the opportunity to get their teeth examined by those medical officers. Some of those children were referred to Manthikai and Karaweddi Base Hospitals for further treatment.
19 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment troops serving the 521 Brigade organized the awareness programme and the clinic.
