  • SVAB's 75th New House Under '150 House Construction Project' Vested in War Hero Family

     
    Two more new houses, built by the funds of the Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB) under the SVAB’s ongoing ‘150 House Construction Project’ in appreciation of the indelible service of the War Heroes, were vested in Ranaviru families during separate ceremonies at Hikkaduwa and Elpitiya on Wednesday (20). These two new houses were the 74th and 75th that were completed under the SVAB’s ongoing ‘150 House Construction Project’.

     The Army’s  first-ever Inter Regiment Practical Pistol Firing Competition for officers took place at the Field Firing Range (FFR) at Diyatalawa during Feb 9-10. The Inter Regiment Practical Pistol Firing Competition saw its birth as a new project, introduced by the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya for the first time in the Army history of practical pistol firing.

    613 Brigade troops in Tachchanamaradamadu, Palampiddy under the 61 Division of the Security Force Headquarters, Wanni recently received a new drinking water scheme. The new water scheme was commissioned by Major General Boniface Perera, Security Force Commander, Wanni when he visited the 613 Brigade Headquarters on Monday (18).

    Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya, Commander of the Army on Sunday (24) arrived in Ampara with the intention of evaluating how Army arrangements are in progress in connection with the forthcoming ‘Deyata Kirula-2013’ mega exhibition in March.
