  • Ushan Vidyalayam Students Educated on IT

     
    Students in Varani area, Jaffna had the rare chance of receiving knowledge on IT thanks to the efforts of the 52 Division and 522 Brigade under the Security Force Headquarters, Jaffna. As the first phase of the project, 110 students from Ushan Ramanadan Vidyalayam underwent IT training during the workshop, held on Wednesday (13) beginning at 9.00 a.m.
     
  • Career Guidance Seminar for School Leavers Attract 828 Students from Jaffna

     
    Expanding the Army-initiated community development roles further, 52 Division and 521 Brigade Headquarters recently launched a seminar on ‘Skill and Resource Development and Career Guiding’ for the benefit of school-leavers after sitting the G.C.E Advanced Level examination in August 2013.

  • SLSR Troops Under 623 Brigade Assist Conduct of Medical Clinic


    623 Brigade troops, extending their helping hand towards betterment of the lives affected by recent floods in Konwewa, Veherawewa, Kohombagaswewa and Kambiliwewa villages under No 5 Buddangala Grama Niladari, conducted a mobile clinic on Friday (15).   • SVAB's 75th New House Under '150 House Construction Project' Vested in War Hero Family

     
    Two more new houses, built by the funds of the Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB) under the SVAB’s ongoing ‘150 House Construction Project’ in appreciation of the indelible service of the War Heroes, were vested in Ranaviru families during separate ceremonies at Hikkaduwa and Elpitiya on Wednesday (20). These two new houses were the 74th and 75th that were completed under the SVAB’s ongoing ‘150 House Construction Project’.

    Showing true spirits of goodwill, understanding, reconciliation and concern, the Army Viru Daru Society and the Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB) with the active support and patronage of Lanka Institute of Fashion Technology is to jointly stage a mammoth ‘Fashion Show’ fund-raiser on April 24 with the noble intent to raise educational standards of war-affected children in the North and the East.

    Sri Lanka Army-produced reputed athlete of international standards, Warrant Officer-I, D.A.D.P.S Amarasekara who reached dazzling heights in the sphere of Asian Grand Prix Athletic Tournaments and elsewhere, bringing honour to the Army, bade farewell to the field of athletics on Wednesday (20) during a formal felicitation ceremony plus a media briefing at Ministry of Sports Auditorium.

Religious leaders of all ethnicities participated at the inaugural ceremony of the annual event.
