  • New Pre-Fabricated Technology Gifts Jaffna Army Camps with Permanent Structures

     
    Mr Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Secretary Defence and Urban Development, currently in Jaffna, taking an exceptional interest in ongoing renovation and reconstruction work of existing military camps in the peninsula, on Tuesday (12) went to the Jaffna town-based Army camp formation, in order to see how modern pre-fabricated constructions are replacing the old ones in the premises.
     
  • Jaffna Students Get School Essentials


    120 school children from low-income families in the 52 Division area in Jaffna received school accessories donated by Mr Balasundaram, Chief Engineer, Sri Lanka Telecom, Colombo and Mrs Balasundaram at a simple ceremony held at Varani Maha Vidyalayam on Wednesday (6). The donation worth Rs. 30,000/= was coordinated by the 522 Brigade.

  • Army Organizes Dental Clinic and Workshop for Jaffna Students


    521 Brigade in Jaffna in association with the Dental Medical Authorities organized a Dental clinic and workshop for students in the area on Tuesday (12). The clinic organized under the guidance of the General Officer Commanding 52 Division Brigadier W. V. A. Sudasinghe and 521 Brigade Commander Colonel D. M. T. B. Dissanayake was held through out the day at Nelliadi Central College.

  • Second 'CISM Day Run' of Tri-Services Covers Galle Face Area

     
    Sri Lanka’s second joint tri-service Marathon Run, organized under the auspices of Brussels-based International Military Sports Council (Conseil International du Sport Militaire), more widely known as ‘CISM Day Run,’ commenced early this morning (17) at Colombo Light House Galley, with the participation of about 275 tri-service personnel, headed by respective service Commanders.
