Under the direction of the Commander of the Army, Coordination Centres to inquire into the welfare and administrative matters of retired Army personnel, disabled war heroes and next of kin were established at each Army establishment islandwide with effect from 26 May 2025.
Major General T.A. Peiris ptsc was invited to the Office of the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, along with his family members on 30 May 2025, prior to his retirement from the Sri Lanka Army after completing a distinguished career spanning 34 years.

The Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers (SLE) held its Colours Night – 2025 ceremony on 28 May 2025 at the Grand Maitland, Colombo. Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, graced the event as the Chief Guest. The event aimed to recognise and commend the exceptional achievements of SLE sportsmen across various sports disciplines.

Major General A.H.L.G Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, visited the 6 Field Engineer Regiment and the 7 Field Engineer Regiment on 26 and 27 May 2025.
The 80th General Assembly and Congress of the International Military Sports Council (CISM) took place from 17 to 25 May 2025 at the Grand Maitland Hotel, Colombo. A significant highlight of the event was the conferment of honorary medals and the prestigious title of “Knight” to nine distinguished military personnel for their contributions to military sports and international cooperation.
Warrant Officer II Kalinga Kumarage made history by securing the Bronze Medal in the Men’s 400m event at the Asian Athletics Championship, held on 28 May 2025, with a time of 45.55 seconds, marking a significant achievement for Sri Lanka.
The Directorate of Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation organised a medical camp for disabled and serving military personnel on 27 May 2025 at Abimansala 1 Wellness Resort, Anuradhapura. The initiative aimed to address the healthcare needs of Army veterans residing in the North Central Province.
