Sri Lanka Army Conducts Welfare Programme

A welfare programme was conducted with the aim of ensuring the well-being of serving personnel, while addressing their needs and concerns on 09 July 2025 at the Gajaba Regimental Centre.

Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, graced the event as the Chief Guest. Upon his arrival, the Commander of the Army was accorded a drive pass and warmly welcomed by Major General U.K.D.D.P Udugama RWP RSP USP ndc psc, Colonel of the Regiment, the Gajaba Regiment.

Following military formalities, the Army Chief addressed the troops, emphasising the Army’s continued commitment to the welfare of its serving and retired personnel, as well as the families of fallen war heroes.

Thereafter, the Commander of the Army engaged in cordial interactions with the participants present at the venue.

The programme was coordinated by the Directorate of Veterans Affairs and Rehabilitations and representatives from relevant Directorates and Branches extended their cooperation to offer viable solutions to the issues raised.

Afterward, the Commander of the Army paid courtesy calls on Atamasthanadhipathi, Most Ven. Pallegama Hemarathana Thero and Most Ven. Eethalawetunawewe Gnanathilaka Thero, the Chief Incumbent of Ruwanweliseya, receiving their blessings.
