Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, the Commander of the Army, handed over the key of a newly constructed house to Staff Sergeant W.M.G.M. Mangala of the 5th (V) Battalion of the Gajaba Regiment (GR) in Rajanganaya on 09 July 2025, amidst religious blessings.
Upon arrival, the Commander of the Army was warmly welcomed by Major General U.K.D.D.P. Udugama RWP RSP USP ndc psc, Commander – Security Forces (West), and the Colonel of the Regiment of the Gajaba Regiment.
The new house was financially supported by Dr. Gayathri Salgado (MBBS, FACGP) and Dr. Prasad Gunaruwan (MBBS, FRACP, PhD, MRCP), residents in Australia, and constructed by the troops of the Gajaba Regiment, through coordination of the Gajaba Regiment Seva Vanitha Branch
Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, government officials and civilians in the area participated in the event.
