A solemn military funeral was held on Sunday (15) evening at the new crematorium of the General Cemetery, Borella, to bid farewell to the late General Hamilton Wanasinghe

Major General D.K.S.K Dolage USP nps psc, the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF), visited the 7th (Volunteer) Regiment of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (SLAC) on 13 June 2025. Upon arrival, he was accorded a drive pass and warmly welcomed by Lieutenant Colonel M.W. Vishvamithra psc, the Commanding Officer of 7 (V) SLAC.

General Hamilton Wanasinghe (Retd) VSV USP ndc, a former Commander of the Army, passed away on 13 June 2025 after a brief illness at the Army Hospital, Narahenpita. He was 91 years old at the time of his demise.
