18 GW Constructs Barbed Wire Fence to Safeguard Madurakatiya Children’s Centre

Troops of the 18 Gemunu Watch (GW) constructed a protective barbed wire fence around the Madurakatiya Children’s Development Centre premises on 07 September 2024. This initiative was carried out under the guidance of Major General B.K.G.M.L Rodrigo RSP psc IG, Commander Security Forces (Central), and under the supervision of Major D.A.K Palihena, the Commanding Officer of 18 GW.

Under the guidance of the Commander of the 232 Infantry Brigade and the supervision of the Commanding Officer of the 4 Gemunu Watch (GW), a new house valued at nearly 2.5 million was constructed by the troops of 4 GW for a needy family in the Eravur area.

VIR Hosts Farewell Ceremony for Retiring Colonel of the Regiment

The Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) hosted a farewell ceremony on 15 September 2024 at the Regimental Centre, Boyagane, Kurunegala, to honour Major General S.R.B. Aluvihare RWP RSP ndu psc, the retiring 64th Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and 22nd Colonel of the Regiment of VIR.
