The Battalion Training Course of the 17(V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) concluded on 04 September 2024 at the Infantry Battalion Training School, Alankulama. Major General S. Kasturimudali RSP ndc psc, General Officer Commanding of the 56 Infantry Division graced the event as the Chief Guest.

During the ceremony, certificates and trophies were awarded to Officers and Other Ranks for their outstanding performances. The following individuals and units were recognised:

- Best Shooter: Captain A.C.P Kumara

- All-Round Best Student: Infantrman H.M.S.S Kumara

- Best Company: A Company

- Best Section Commander: Corporal S.R. Subasinghe

- Best Physical Fitness: Corporal L.G.M. Miyuranga
