The final match and the closing ceremony of the Army to Army Hockey Tournament organized by the Army Hockey Committee together with Directorate of Army Sports took place this evening (10) at Astro Turf, International Hockey ground, Colombo 7, giving the win of the entire series to the visiting Pakistan Hockey team.
The day’s Chief Guest, Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva, Commander of the Army in the company of High Commissioner for Pakistan in Sri Lanka, Major General (Retd) Syed Shakeel Hussain.
Chairman Army Hockey Committee, Major General Shavendra Silva welcomed both the Chief Guest and Pakistan’s High Commissioner.
The visiting Hockey team managed to claim the victory with 4 - 0 to emerge as the winner of the series.
Each team with eleven Hockey players competed in the finals.
The Championship Trophy as well as merit awards and shields to the Best players in both teams were presented by Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva at the end of the ceremony.
The tournament was organized under the ongoing Army to Army sports exchange programme introduced by the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva.
