The Sri Lanka Army Inter Regiment Triathlon Championship 2025 was successfully conducted on 20 December 2025 at the Chandrika Lake premises in Embilipitiya.
The championship brought together competitors from 12 regiments, with a total of 55 male athletes and 2 female athletes competing in a highly competitive and professionally organised environment.
The event was graced by Major General K.W. Jayaweera USP psc, General Officer Commanding of the 24 Infantry Division and Chairman of the Sri Lanka Army Triathlon Committee, as the Chief Guest.
The triathlon comprised three demanding segments designed to test the overall athletic capability of the competitors, namely swimming - 750 metres, cycling – 20 kilometres and running – 5 kilometres.
The championship witnessed outstanding individual performances in the following categories:
Open Men’s Category
* 1st Place – Lance Corporal M.P.S.R. Priyadarshana (Sri Lanka Army Electrical and Mechanical Engineers)
* 2nd Place – Private R.M.N.H. Susiripala (Sri Lanka Army Light Infantry)
* 3rd Place – Corporal H.B.A. Chandrasiri (Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps)
Novices Men’s Category
* 1st Place – Lance Corporal M.D.S. Pushpakumara (Sri Lanka Army Electrical and Mechanical Engineers)
* 2nd Place – Sergeant H.A.R. Chamara Kumara (Sri Lanka Army Light Infantry)
* 3rd Place – Recruit W.A.D. Hettiarachchi (Sri Lanka Army Service Corps)
Open Women’s Category
* 1st Place – Recruit N.H.A. De Silva (Sri Lanka Army Service Corps)
* 2nd Place – Lance Corporal H.K.I.T. Udayakumari (Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps)
In the team events, the Sri Lanka Army Electrical and Mechanical Engineers emerged as the Men’s Team Champions, while the Sri Lanka Artillery secured the position of Men’s Team Runners-up.
