  • SLSR Wushu Player Felicitated


    The world-class Army-produced Wushu player,  Corporal W.L Gunasekara of 12 Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR), who secured a Bronze medal at the recent 12th World Wushu Championship, was felicitated at a ceremony, held on Saturday (14) at the SLSR Regimental Headquarters, Ambepussa. This felicitation ceremony, arranged on the instructions of Major General Boniface Perera.....
  • Ex-Combatants Under Rehabilitation Complete Sinhala Proficiency Course


    A total of 98 former combatants, now under rehabilitation at Poonthottam Rehabilitation Centre in Vavuniya successfully completed the two-week long ‘Sinhala Language Proficiency’ course and received certificates in a brief ceremony on Friday (13).  The fortnight-long Sinhala Language Course, conducted by instructors of the Official Language and Training Centre, selected the best 22 students who scored more than 90 marks in the Course after close scrutiny.

  • Army Military Intelligence Corps Headquarters to Be a Full- Fledged Complex


    Sri Lanka Army's Military Intelligence Corps (MIC) Headquarters at Karandeniya, now on the road to be a full-fledged wing, identical with all other Regimental Headquarters, declared open its new Parade Ground on Saturday (14) and inaugurated work of the proposed MIC School, Banquet Hall and a Club for rest and recreation for all ranks.

    Celebrating the spirits of forthcoming Christmas, troops serving the Security Force Headquarters (SFHQ-W), organized a special Christmas Carrols at SFHQ-W auditorium on Monday (16).   • Major General Wijayaratne's Death Anniversary Falls Today


    The 23rd death anniversary of Major General Chullabhaya Lakshman Wijayaratne of Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI), more popularly called ‘Lucky’ in the Army, who died a War Hero, falls today (Dec 18). A deadly landmine explosion triggered by LTTE separatists near 10th Mile Post on Trincomalee - Anuradhapura, snuffed out his precious life on 18th December 1990 while he was serving as the Area Commander for 33 Brigade in Trincomalee. 
  • Northern Students Enjoy Army Hospitality During Band & Drill Display


    Security Force Headquarters - Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT), in what is seen as another gesture of reconciliation, organized the dispatch of a group of Northern students to interact with Southerners during a tour to places of tourist attraction and the Army cantonment in Panagoda.
