An overnight Pirith chanting ceremony and a Heel Daana (morning alms), plus religious observances commemorated the 17th anniversary of the 55 Division under Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ - J) at 55 Division Headquarters on Saturday (15).
During the observances blessings and merits were invoked on the country, HE the President, Commander-in-Chief, Mr Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Secretary Defence and Urban Development, Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake, Commander of the Army, Major General Mahinda Hathurusinghe, Commander, SFHQ-J, fallen and disabled War Heroes, serving officers and other ranks in the Army.
Brigadier B.H.M.A Wijesinghe General Officer Commanding, 55 Division together with all the officers and other ranks of 55 Division, Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers, officers and other ranks attended these events.
