  • DSCSC Graduation Ceremony of Course No 7 Student Officers Including Foreigners Gets Underway


    The prestigious Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) at Sapugaskanda, had its annual graduation ceremony (Course No 7) at DSCSC auditorium this morning (13) where a total of 102 officers, including 13 foreigners, passed out during a glittering convocation ceremony. Dr P.B Jayasundara, Secretary to Ministry of Finance and Plan Implementation as the Chief Guest, graced the occasion, together with Mr Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Secretary Defence and Urban Development and a host of service commanders, diplomats, senior tri-service officers, past commanders and distinguished invitees, including Chief of Defence Staff, Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake, Commanders of the Navy and Air Force. Major General N.J Walgama, Commandant, DSCSC received the Chief Guest and all other distinguished invitees on arrival at the entrance to the auditorium.

    Troops of the 51 Division Headquarters in Jaffna joining hands together with the religious organization “Bridge of Hope” of the “Believers’ Church”, Colombo gifted a stock of school accessories and other essentials among 120 low-income group school students in Yogapuram, Jaffna during a brief ceremony at 51 Division Headquarters at Kopay on Wednesday (11).

    Sri Lanka Army's Military Intelligence Corps (MIC) Headquarters at Karandeniya, now on the road to be a full-fledged wing, identical with all other Regimental Headquarters, declared open its new Parade Ground on Saturday (14) and inaugurated work of the proposed MIC School, Banquet Hall and a Club for rest and recreation for all ranks.

    The 13th successive phase of the Ministry of Defence (MoD) Seva Vanitha Unit-initiated scholarship awarding ceremony for 76 more students of War Hero ‘Ranaviru’ families took place, at the MoD conference hall, led by Mrs Ioma Rajapaksa, Chairperson, MoD Seva Vanitha Unit on Friday (13).     Troops, belonging to 5 Sri Lanka Artillery (SLA) Regiment serving Thopur area of the Security Force Headquarters - East (SFHQ - E),  organized distribution of school items  for 74  students of low-income group families at Dehiwatta School and  86 Students  of  Venayur Central College.


     
  • 1769 More Sinha War Heroes Awarded 'Rana Sura Padakkama'


    Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR), one of the most prestigious infantry units of the Army which has an illustrious history of 57 years, awarded one more segment of Rana Sura Padakkama (RSP) gallantry medals to 1769 SLSR War Heroes during a glittering ceremony at SLSR Regimental Headquarters at Ambepussa on Saturday (14).
     
  • 64 Division is Now 5 Years Old


    64 Division troops, serving the Security Force Headquarters – Mullaittivu (SFHQ – MLT) celebrated its 5th Anniversary during a brief ceremony at the Division Headquarters premises on December 5. A Pirith chanting ceremony got underway the previous night and blessed the troops at 64 Division.
