  • Soldiers Support Conduct of Scouts' 'Jamboree'


    12 Gajaba Regiment troops of 231 Brigade under 23 Division serving Kallady area at the request of the Sarasvathi School in Urani, Batticaloa facilitated the conduct of a ‘Jamboree’ of the school’s boy scouts. More than 60 boy scouts participated in the arrangement with the participation of a group of Army personnel who volunteered to support the project.

    The Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB) – initiated ‘Poojaniyai Oba - Mau Piya Upahara’ felicitation ceremony that paid tribute to a cross-section of the parents of fallen War Heroes of the Army, took place at Colombo Tower Hall Thursday (31) morning. Mrs Ioma Rajapaksa, Chairperson, Ministry of Defence Seva Vanitha Unit as the Chief Guest and Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake, Commander of the Army at the invitation of Mrs Damayanthi Ratnayake, President, SVAB.....
     
  • 182 New KDU Graduates Pass Out During Intake 27 Convocation at BMICH


    The Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) Convocation - 2013 for conferment of Bachelor and Master degrees on 182 military officers, got underway on Tuesday (29) evening at the newly-refurbished Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) with HE the President Mahinda Rajapaksa, gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest.
     
  • Sanitary-ware Gifted to War Heroes


    With the sponsorship from Kandy Rotary Club, 11 Division under Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-C) offered sanitary equipment to the value of RS 207,474/= to three more selected totally dependent War Heroes of Sri Lanka Artillery and Sri Lanka Light Infantry at 11 Division Headquarter premises on 25 October.

  • Homeless Low Income Family to Receive A New House


    11 Sri Lanka Artillery (SLA) troops of 681 Brigade under 68 Division of the Security Forces Headquarters – Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) having observed hardships faced by a homeless widow with four children volunteered to build a new house for them in Mullivaikkal area recently.
