'No Removal of Army Camps from North' - President
HE the President Mahinda Rajapaksa addressing the 23rd Convocation of the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU), held at the BMICH on Tuesday (29) said that since the country’s security is the top-most priority, Army camps in the North have to be in place like in other parts of the country and there doesn’t exist any need to remove them. 12 Gajaba Regiment troops of 231 Brigade under 23 Division serving Kallady area at the request of the Sarasvathi School in Urani, Batticaloa facilitated the conduct of a ‘Jamboree’ of the school’s boy scouts. The annual inter regimental combat shooting contest, got underway at Diyatalawa firing range during 18-28 October.
