As part of the community oriented projects being effected by the Army for the welfare of Kilinochchi civilians, the 571 Brigade under the 57 Division recently organized a three-day educational tour for students at Kilinochchi Maha Vidyalaya. Newly resettled civilians in the east of Manthai, Vavuniya recently received a stock of agricultural accessories and equipment free of charge during a brief ceremony. Several Singer water pumps, pesticide spraying machines and other equipment, gifted by the International Non Governmental Organization, ZOA were thus distributed among the farmers in the area following an initiative taken by the 612 Brigade Headquarters under 61 Division.....
The Security Forces Headquarters, Jaffna (SFHQ-J), as one more assignment of its ongoing community-oriented projects of the Civil Military Coordination (CIMIC) center recently distributed uniforms and clothes, worth over Rs 800,000/= among carefully selected Jaffna students and denizens. One more phase of the Army-Health Department combined ‘National Mosquito Control Week (March 23-29)’ commenced today (23) with its inaugural ceremony at Seevali Maha Vidyalaya, Vanathamulla, Borella. The Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB), engaged in the noble task of either constructing new houses or partly built ones for War Heroes, completed one more project at Kiriwewa, Sevanagala on Wednesday (23) and symbolically handed it over to the War Hero, 2nd Lieutenant D. R. A. S. Pathmasiri of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR).

The Army, with its proven capability to meet with any challenge, is to supplement its troops by imparting IT knowledge following a directive given by the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya. The Gemunu Watch (GW) Regiment Centre at Kuruwita with the sole intention of disseminating IT knowledge among GW troops and family members of GW soldiers, had its state of the art new ‘Ranaviru Information Technology Training Institute’ opened on Saturday (26), along with a new Medical Centre in the Regiment Complex.
