    A multitude of projects including religious observances, breakfast treat to an orphanage, military honours, planting of tree saplings, distribution of school accessories, sports events, social get-togethers, etc, dominated the 16th anniversary celebration of the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W) on Wednesday (26).
  • Contenders in 'Ranaviru Real Star' Undergo Workshop Training


    More than 400 potential Ranaviru Real Stars, aspiring to enter the 5th phase of the country’s mammoth Ranaviru Real Star show, attended a workshop for five days (Nov 25-30) at the Security Force Headquarters - Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) on the directions of Major General Jagath Dias, Commander, SFHQ-MLT.
  • New Jaffna Commander Assumes Office


    Major General Jagath Alwis, the newly-appointed Commander, Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) assumed his duties on Saturday (26) after a brief formal ceremony. After religious observances, Major General Alwis signified the acceptance of the office by placing his signature on an official document.
  • Sale Centre for Tree Saplings Opened


    An outlet 'Sadaharitha' for sale of plants from Mankulam, Kilinochchi area was established by 3 Gajaba Regiment troops of the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN). This sales outlet provides seeds and saplings belonging to many tree varieties, generally found in Kilinochchi area. It also provides knowledge to civilians on seeds, plants and saplings.
  • One More SFHQ-MLT Community Project Launched


    Peliyagoda Lions Club offered its helping hand to the students and villagers in Mullaittivu and gave away a large stock of school accessories and spectacles on Saturday (15) at the request of the Security Force Headquarters – Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT). In addition, a wheelchair was donated to a disable civilian on the recommendations of the SFHQ-MLT with the blessings of the Commander, SFHQ-MLT.
  • A Stock of Furniture from 'Sinamel Rotary Club' Distriuted


    A stock of furniture contains of tables and chairs worth about Rs 600,000/= was donated for Kadaikadu Roman Catholic Tamil School in the Security Force Headquarters-Jaffna (SFHQ-J) area on Saturday (29), following sponsorship received from ‘Sinamel Rotary Club’. A simple ceremony to distribute furniture was held at the Kadaikadu Tamil School.
  • SFHQ-East Launches Many Community Based Projects


    Troops serving the Security Force Headquarters - East (SFHQ – E) conducted many community based projects in the past week. Three ‘Shramadana Campaigns’ were organized by  6 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) deployed  at Thiriyaya in the 221 Brigade of 22 Division,  to clean the coastal area of Nilaweli in Kuchichiweli.................
  • SLAGSC Players Win Inter Regiment Volleyball Championship


    The Inter Regiment Volleyball Tournament saw its final tussle got underway on Monday (1) evening at the Sugathadasa Stadium. Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake, Commander of the Army as the Chief Guest witnessed the final Super League encounter between Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps (SLAGSC) and Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps (SLAOC) players.
     
  • Eastern Troops Help Civil Community & Review Development Projects


    Troops of the 5 Sri Lanka Artillery of the 224 Brigade in the 22 Division cleared the main drainage system of Aravikalluri area, Mutur by moving machinery of the Pradeshiya Sabha on Thursday (27).
