  • ARMY INQUIRY INTO RATHUPASWALA INCIDENT CONTINUES


    The recording of Summary of Evidence (S of E) regarding the Rathupaswala incident upon completion of the Court of Inquiry (C of I) continues. In the meantime the Magisterial Inquiry regarding the same incident has been fixed for hearing on 6th November 2015 (No 13 / 1440). 



  • 18th Army Para Games Inaugurated with Overwhelming Enthusiasm



    The 18th  ‘Sri Lanka Army Para Games - 2015’ that assemble more than 450 differently able Army War Heroes to one pitch once a year, together with invited foreign participants was ceremonially opened this morning (16) by the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva as the Chief Guest.
  • Another Computer Course at SFHQ-MLT Ends


    The sixth phase of the Security Force Headquarters - Mullaitivu (SFHQ-MLT) - organized Computer Course with the motive of further enhancing knowledge on Information Technology (IT) among troops of the SFHQ-MLT, ended successfully on Tuesday (15) at the SFHQ-MLT main auditorium. 19 other rankers followed this 20-day long course, organized by the SFHQ-MLT with the support of ‘Future Step IT Solution Pvt Ltd’.
  • Troops Coordinate Religious Ceremony


    Enshrinement of Buddha's sacred relics and unveiling of the gold-plated pinnacle atop the newly-built Dagoba at Thonigala Temple, Galkulama, took place on Monday (14) morning, The event was preceded by an all-night Pirith chanting on Sunday (13) night. Troops of the 62 Division coordinated the work on the direction of Brigadier K.G.D. Perera, General Officer Commanding, 62 Division.


  • Cookery Demonstration Held to Refresh Culinary Knowledge


    A cookery workshop for cooks , chefs, waiters and those in-charge of military rations of the Security Force Headquarters-Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN),  was conducted during 8- 15 September  at the Advanced Infantry Platoon Training (AIPT) School, Bharathipuram by the troops of the 65 and 66 Divisions and troops of the Forward Maintenance Area FMA (KLN).
  • Tree Planting Project of the SFHQ-West Goes to Schools


    One more phase of the ‘Gasin Piri Ratak-Wipath Nethi Hetak’ (A Country Filled with Trees & a Tomorrow without Natural Disasters) project, aimed at planting trees across the coastal belt from the south to the northwestern areas got underway at four separate places on Tuesday (15) on the directions of Major General Ubaya Medawala, Commander, Security Force Headquarters, West (SFHQ-West).
  • Training Day Presentations Submitted


    Officers at the Security Force Headquarters - Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) as part of their training day programme, conducted a few presentations during their Training Day Programme on Wednesday (16) at the SFHQ-MLT main auditorium. Brigadier D.S.A. Dehiwatte, Brigadier Army Quartering, SFHQ-MLT attended the occasion as the Chief Guest who delivered the opening address.
     
  • Troops of the 11 &12 Divisions Engage in 'Shramadana' Campaigns

     
    Troops of the 3 (V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) of the 11 Division conducted two ‘Shramadana’ campaigns to clear the surroundings of the Nuwara Eliya Base Hospital and Ashokarama Temple premises, Nuwara Eliya on Friday (10). In the meantime, troops of the 22 Sri Lanka National Guards (SLNG) of the 11 Division conducted another Shramadana campaign at the Sri Sudarshanarama Temple, Nuwara Eliya during 10-11 September.
     
  • New SLAF Base Commander Meets Wanni Commander


    Group Captain R.A.U.P. Rajapakse, the newly appointed Base Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force Base at Vavuniya made a formal visit to the Security Forces Headquarters-Wanni (SFHQ-W) on Wednesday (16) after assuming duties. Major General Boniface Perera, Commander, SFHQ-W welcomed the visiting SLAF Commander at the former’s office and discussed matters of mutual interest.
