Enshrinement of Buddha's sacred relics and unveiling of the gold-plated pinnacle atop the newly-built Dagoba at Thonigala Temple, Galkulama, took place on Monday (14) morning,
The event was preceded by an all-night Pirith chanting on Sunday (13) night. Troops of the 62 Division coordinated the work on the direction of Brigadier K.G.D. Perera, General Officer Commanding, 62 Division.
The financial assistance for the construction of the Dagoba was provided by Mr. Priyantha Silva, Chairman, Diesel and Hydraulic Engineers, Rathmalana.
Mr. Priyatha De Silva, together with Brigadier K.G.D. Perera attended the ceremony for placement of relics and the unveiling ceremony which was organized on the directions of the Chief Incumbent at Thonigala Temple along with villagers.
