  • Central Troops Participate in Blood Donation Campaign


    Troops from the 10 (V) Gemunu Watch (GW), serving under the Security Forces Headquarters – Central (SFHQ – C) donated their blood during a blood donation campaign. Organized by the  Kamburugamuwa branch of the Southern Blood Bank, together with Mayurapura Mahaveli Division, it was  held at  the office of the Mayurapura Mahaweli  Division, Hambantota  on Tuesday (1).

  • SFHQ -“ KLN Officers' Syndicate Presentations Submitted


    Officers of the 20 Gajaba Regiment (GR) and the 4 Military Intelligence Corps (MIC) submitted their ‘syndicate presentations’ separately under the topics of “Islamic State of Iraq and Syria” and “Sri Lankan Model of Deradicalization and its Tool Effectiveness when comparing with Different Methods” on 02 September at the 20 GR Battalion Headquarters and on 05 September at the Security Force Headquarters-Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) respectively.
  • Army Throws Its Weight Behind Making the Country Greener with Trees



    Security Force Headquarters-West (SFHQ-West), initiating the project, ‘Gasin Piri Ratak-Wipath Nethi Hetak’ (A Country Filled with Trees & A Tomorrow Without Natural Disasters), with the firm determination to prevent disasters through greenery, got underway at the Bellanwila-Boralesgamuwa walk path Monday (7) morning.
  • Mullaittivu Troops Meet the Commander at Respective Units


    Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva, Commander of the Army on Friday (4) made a trip down to the Security Force Headquarters - Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) intending to address the troops and inquire about requirements of all ranks. The day’s itinerary began after Major General P.U.S. Vithanage, Commander, SFHQ-MLT warmly received the visiting Army Chief on arrival at the Mullaittivu grounds.
  • 232 Brigade Provides Water Tanks to Monastery


    Troops serving the 232 Brigade under the 23 Division of the Security Force Headquarters-East (SFHQ-E) recently assisted the delivery of two water tanks to the Kajuwaththa Ariyadhamma Aranya Senasana at Aralaganwila area. Mr. S. Spiritheyon, Director, “ESCO” organization sponsored the donation after the scarcity for water storage was brought to ESCO’s notice. Civil Affairs Officer, 232 Brigade coordinated the donation.
  • New ICRC Head in Sri Lanka Calls on Commander



    Ms Claire Meypraud, new Head of the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) in Sri Lanka, paid a courtesy call on the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva on Tuesday (8) at the Army Headquarters.

  • Army Shooters Sweep Top Three Places in IMSSU Shooting Meet


    The Negombo Rifle Club and International Metallic Silhouette Shooting Union (IMSSU) organized finals of the National Shooting Competition, under the guidance of the National Rifle Association took place on Sunday (6) at the firing range in Katana, Negombo.
