    Archaeologists in the Northern Province have affirmed that the ruins recovered from Shivanagar, Uriththirapuram in Kilinochchi, containing slates, stacks of ancient bricks, Sri Paada symbols, etc, belong to the historic Polonnaruwa era. 20 Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) troops of the 662 Brigade under the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) came across the site lying in their area of responsibility.....

  • New Tennis Court & Bridge in 62 Div Headquarters Opened


    An exhibition Tennis match played at the newly constructed Tennis court at 62 Division Headquarters in Vavuniya under the Security Force Headquarters-Wanni (SFHQ-W) marked the inauguration of the new Tennis court on Tuesday (3). 62 Division General Officer Commanding, Brigadier K.G.D Perera taking the initiative in this connection mustered the support and skills of the troops serving the 621 and 622 Brigades.
  • Mullaittivu SF Headquarters Holds Its 5th Anniversary


    Commemoration of the 5th anniversary of the founding of the Security Force Headquarters-Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT), took place on Thursday (5) at their own premises. A formal Guard Turn Out plus a Guard of Honour, presented to the Commander, SFHQ-MLT, Major General Jagath Dias, kicked off the day’s proceedings at the SFHQ-MLT, situated on the banks of the Nandikadal lagoon.
  • SFHQ-C Commander Receives Blessings & Visits 11 Division Headquarters


    The newly appointed Commander, Security Force Headquarters-Central (SFHQ-C) received the blessings of two Mahanayaka Theros of Malwatta and Asgiriya Chapters before he made a formal visit to the Kandy-based 11 Division Headquarters under command to the SFHQ-C.   • Governor's Official Home to be Maintained by Troops


    Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) took charge of the maintenance of the official residence of the Governor for Northern Province, situated at Kanagapuram, Kilinochchi, following a request made to the SFHQ-KLN. SFHQ-KLN will take necessary steps to carry out necessary repairs and maintain high standards in the future.
     
  • International Environment Day Marked in Jaffna


    To keep the public reminded of the importance of International Environment Day (June 5), 51 and 52 Divisions and 523 Brigade of the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J), launched an elaborate programme with a procession of light vehicles and push bicycles. Using more than 100 push bicycles, a cycle tour across the peninsula took place, accompanied by a few light vehicles, provided by those Divisions from Palali to Duraiappa Stadium.
