Commemoration of the 5th anniversary of the founding of the Security Force Headquarters-Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT), took place on Thursday (5) at their own premises.
A formal Guard Turn Out plus a Guard of Honour, presented to the Commander, SFHQ-MLT, Major General Jagath Dias, kicked off the day’s proceedings at the SFHQ-MLT, situated on the banks of the Nandikadal lagoon.
A tree planting and a troop address at the occasion brought the day’s programme to an end.
Officers of the Navy, Police, all General Officers Commanding, Brigade Commanders, Unit Commanders and a gathering of other ranks attended the occasion.
In the meantime, a special ‘Pirith’ chanting ceremony plus an alms-giving to Maha Sangha on Saturday (7) with the participation of many officers and other ranks, invoked blessings on the anniversary.
