  • 56 Division Anniversary Programmes Get Underway


    Troops serving 56 Division under Security Forces Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W) commemorated the 15th anniversary of their Division conducting a full-day blood donation campaign at its Headquarters. Members of the Army as well as Special Task Force of the Police, numbering over 150, gave away blood during the arrangement, attended by two doctors and ten nurses of the Anuradhapura Provincial Blood Centre.
  • Ongoing Exercise 'Cormorant Strike III' Enters Final Phase


    Exercise ‘Cormorant Strike III’, the three-week long joint military exercise, now underway in the East with the participation of 40 foreign military personnel, is reaching its final phase with several daring mock features. The third of this kind began on 10th September after a comprehensive briefing before all military personnel under training proceeded to Verugal and Batticaloa areas for the Exercise proper.
     
  • Outgoing Navy Chief Calls on Commander of the Army


    The outgoing Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral D. W. A. S. Dissanayake Friday (21) morning paid a courtesy call on the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya at Army Headquarters. A drive-past Guard Turnout plus a Guard of Honour greeted him upon his arrival at the Headquarters premises before he was welcomed at the entrance to the Commander’s Secretariat at Army Headquarters.
