    Sri Lanka Army’s 511 Brigade in Jaffna in collaboration with Urumpirai Lions Club and Asiri Heart Care Center, organized a cardiac camp at Kopay Navalar Tamil Vidyalaya recently (18).The Camp secured a very high response form the general public where a recorded number of 583 attended for medical advices and treatments from neighbouring areas.

  • Sri Lankan Trainee Students Greet Visiting Commander at HQSSG in Pakistan


    The Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya, currently visiting Pakistan on a six-day tour, at the invitation of his Pakistan counterpart, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, arrived at the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) in Peshwar on Tuesday (3) to be received warmly by its Commandant Major General Mazhar Jamil and Senior Officers. During his stay at the PMA as the first stop in the day’s itinerary, the Commander received an overall picture of the PMA’s curricular as well as its courses, being conducted on behalf of trainee foreign students.

  • Storm Affected Manik Farm Civilians Given Emergency Assistance


    Sri Lanka Army troops serving Security Forces Headquarters, Wanni (SFHQ - W) rushed to the assistance of civilians at Manik Farm Relief Village when gushing winds took away their roofs and damaged their temporary houses. Stormy winds on Saturday (March 31) unexpectedly hit the Zone - 1 at Manik Farm Relief Village, causing damages to over one thousand temporary houses and injuring about ten inmates.
     
  • Army Troops Offer Labour to Build Madu Shrine's New Pilgrims' Rest


    The historic Madu Shrine (Our Lady of Madu) in Mannar is to have a new Pilgrims’ Rest soon, thanks to the labour, provided by Army troops, serving the 61 Division and 613 Brigade under the Security Forces Headquarters, Wanni. Construction of the 40 x 100 feet long new Pilgrims’ Rest has been sponsored by People’s Bank after Mannar Bishop Rev. Rayappu Joseph made a request to this effect to the troops serving the area.   • Infantry School's Progress Reviewed

    A workshop to enlighten soldiers receiving infantry training at Kanagarayankulam Infantry Training School, took place on Tuesday (3) with the participation of Major General L.W.C.B.B.
