  • "e- Nenasala" To Provide IT Training to Dependent War Heroes at ' Abimansala'

     
    The 'Abimansala', wellness resort at Anuradhapura where some 52 life-time dependent War Heroes of the North Central Province (NCP) are housed for therapy, rehabilitation, rest and recreation was honoured once again when the government under the Presidential Secretariat's, 'Guna-Nena Saviya' project gifted a " e-Nenasala" IT training centre after donating a stock of new laptop computers to those inmates.
     
  • President Rajapaksa Visits Army Stall at 'Deyata Kirula' Exhibition

     
    President Mahinda Rajapaksa on the second day (February 5) of the 6th 'Deyata Kirula' exhibition at Oyamaduwa, Anuradhapura after opening the day to the public visited the stalls, put up by tri-services.  Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya, Commander of the Army greeted the President Mahinda Rajapaksa on his entering the Army stall, replete with a host of Army equipment, ordnance and other exhibits.

    With the intention of raising living standards of the people in Chiraddikulam, a village, situated to the east of Manthai, the 612 Brigade Headquarters recently organized a workshop for civilians on manufacture of jam and cordials, using the harvest of fruits, collected from their surroundings.
  • National Flags flutter in Jaffna on 64th Independence Day


    National flags were seen flying at all government buildings, private institutions and business places in the main city, suburbs and even remote areas of Jaffna peninsula as the country celebrated 64 years of independence on 4th February on a grand scale. The 64th anniversary of country’s gaining independence from the colonial rule was celebrated by citizens of Jaffna peninsula by hoisting National flags at their residences and on vehicles on Saturday (4).
     
  • Fishing Nets & Safety Lamps given to Kilaly Fishing Families


    Fifty newly-resettled fishing families of Kilaly Grama Seva Division received fishing nets and safety kerosene lamps as livelihood assistance on Thursday (02). Each family received four fishing nets from Hon. Parliamentarian Mr. M. Chandrakumar. The Project coordinated by the Civil Affairs Office of 552 Brigade in Iyakkachchi, also distributed 100 safety kerosene lamps among the families.......
